I fail at self motivation

I've spent the last couple of weeks incapable of doing anything creative. I have no money coming in. I still find it difficult to want to do anything. This is bad.

I'm really hoping that this will go away soon. I need to get making things. Perhaps I have to do the same thing I did when I decided not to be that sad person anymore. Now I have to decide to be motivated and creative. I WILL be creative and motivated. I WILL be creative and motivated.

I need a camera.

I'm quitting my job at the yarn shop. It's past time I do something more fulfilling. What am I going to do? I'm going to design create and sell my wares. I am also going to be teaching knitting and crochet.

What does this mean? My blog will be much more active. I'll be sharing my creations with the world and doing what I love.

A Doozy of a Night!

So, I broke my resolution to blog once a day for an entire year. Honestly, I think that may be too much anyways, most days my posts aren't very interesting or chock full of content you want to see. I think I may alter my resolution to one very good post a week, Pictures in every post. I think that will help me to deliver a far more interesting and enjoyable blog.

The reason I was unable to post yesterday was simple. I planned on an evening post, and, was instead invited to go out. I rushed out for an evening of fun with friends forgetting precious blog plans. Later in the evening my purse was stolen. It contained my phone (which would allow for mobile blog updating), my keys, my favorite sweater, my grandmother's thimble, my lip balm (I have to get more, it was good stuff), my reading glasses, and various other objects of little value.

this atrocious theft very nearly ruined my night! Luckily I was in the company of an awesome friend, and several decent party goers who kept my spirits up for the remainder of the night. And really, what have I lost? I've lost a thing. Things are replaceable. And though the act is heinous in it's own way, I was lucky enough to avoid any dire consequences. I canceled my cards before anything could be charged to them, and suspended my phone service. I had my Dad bring me the spare key to my car, and I've replaced my house key. Only things left to replace are my phone (I have insurance on it so it will be easily done), and my driver's license.

All in all, despite the theft, I'd say I had a good evening. And I've realized something, last time I had my wallet stolen I freaked out over it much more than I have this time. I think that I've gotten better at handling stressful situations. I've learned that life is too short to let this kind of thing bring me down. In the end, no real harm done, and I'm a few items short. No big deal.

Life goes on.

The Doctor Who scarf has hit the halfway point! This thing is nearly as long as I am tall! and it's only halfway done! Holy hotcakes Batman! And this is a slightly shortened version. How long is the normal version going to end up? Yikes!

My Wisdom Teeth Hate Me

They have chosen to grow in one at a time. They grow in agonizingly slowly. Over the past couple of years they grow in, wait a few months, grow some more, wait a few months, grow some more.

The pain is ridiculous. I've never experienced anything quite like it. The only similar thing I've experienced was when I had braces. I used to have dreams about my teeth cracking and falling apart as I was chewing. My wisdom teeth growing in have also caused me to have these dreams again. Teeth falling out, chewing food and my teeth crumbling. They are horrifying!

I have a mouth ache. Goodnight!

Ugh. I hate snow. The storm is supposed to hit tomorrow afternoon. I'll be at work. Yay.

Don't get me wrong, snow is beautiful, and there is nothing quite like standing outside watching the little snowflakes fall silently to the ground. I just hate having to go anywhere in the snow, especially when I find I'm in need of new tires.

The Dr. Who scarf is 11 rows away from being halfway done. This thing is long as heck! And this is a slightly shorter version too! It's going to be fantastic when it's all finished! I'll post pictures when I've reached the halfway point. Probably tomorrow evening.

Just a little! I've been painting/collaging. It's nice to be doing something creative other than knitting. I'd forgotten how much I like to do collage and paint. The piece won't be finished until tomorrow. Perhaps if I like it there will be pictures!

Dr. Who scarf progress

The scarf is now long enough to be wrapped around your neck! I've still got a ways to go, and my hand is tired, but, so far, so good. This scarf won't be quite as long as the original, because the friend it is for isn't much of a scarf wearer, so, a little less length will make it a bit more wearable for him. I'd say I'm nearly halfway done now.

More movies and knitting

I am an old lady. All I do is sit around and knit. Well, okay, that's not ALL I do. I do other things. I work, and occasionally go out. But, my favorite pastime is sitting on the couch curled up with my knitting, and watching some movie or tv show. I can't spend much time in front of the tv just watching. I feel too idle. Knitting and film go together. I don't know why, but, they are perfect companions.

I've completed a few more rows of the Doctor Who scarf! I'll have much more done after tomorrow. I'll have pictures! I'm maybe a third of the way done now! Holy crap, a third of the way done and the thing is about 4 feet long. I really agreed to make 4 of these? I am insane.

I've been working on the Dr. Who scarf again. It's only been a week, but it feels like it's been sitting forever. I began a new stripe! I'll have pictures of it when I feel I've made significant progress.

I bought yarn to make me a sweater. It's purty! I have no clue when I'll get to it though, I've got to finish the Who scarf, and I have a million other things I need to make. I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the requests I've gotten recently. I could knit my ass off for the next month or two and maybe finish it all! But, Busy is good.

I still hate these short days. They make me tired. I haven't been sleeping enough either, and that makes me extra tired. I need a vacation. A week somewhere out in the woods on my own with my knitting would be nice.

GAH! I'm trying to post pictures and blogger is broken. I have pictures of my lengthwise scarf complete, and a neckwarmer complete. But, alas, it is not to be! I'll just have to post extra pictures of awesomeness tomorrow evening!

I bought yarn to make me a sweater today. It's going to be awesome and purple with red stripes. I've had the yarn set aside for this project for a LONG while. I'm glad I'll finally be able to get started! I'm also still working on the who scarf, and a new lenthwise scarf. I'm not sure I like the colors of this new lengthwise scarf though, I might even start it over!

I still hate winter. It puts me in a negative funk, and I don't like it. I fight against it, but it's difficult. I'm just glad that the days are getting longer again, and even though there is lots of cold weather ahead I have something to look forward to. I love how the days slowly get longer. I love the sun. Someone tell me again what I'm doing on this side of the country?

So, anyone with camera equipment want to help me with a project? I'm thinking I want to film myself knitting something (a sweater maybe? or something sorta large) and then I want to speed up the footage into a short film. Of course, I'd need someone with equipment, and also with the editing ability required. I think it would be fun.

These rows take forever to knit! I'm not sure how many stitches I've cast on, and I don't think I really want to know. I'll just keep knitting away untill it's done.

I bought these crazy needles so that I can try to use up some of my leftovers for something other than fingerless gloves. I'm a bit sick of knitting them... hence, stripey lengthwise scarves.

I really need to get my etsy shop back in action. I have been selling things through Fabricate, and I love it, but, I have some things that I don't think would sell well there. Also, I worry a bit about having too much stuff in their shop at once, their space is a bit limited.

One of these days I swear I'll get around to typing up some of my patterns. I promise!

Oh Winter How I Hate Thee

The cold, the grey sky, the snow. And no one seems to know how to drive when the weather turns sour. The highway was almost at a standstill. I had to take an alternate route to escape a long drive home. Luckily the route I took was clear, and no traffic.

I'm knitting again! I bought some needles today so I can attempt making a lengthwise scarf. 60" circular needle! The cable is so long, and a bit unruly. I may not be making too many of these things. We'll see how it works out. I'll get back to the Who scarf soon...

A Long Day

A very long day. I woke up late, I had to rush to get to work. That is always fun. Work was very slow, and full of inventory, my FAVORITE thing ever. It felt like closing time would never come. But, it eventually did. Then it was off the the very belated work Christmas party. I had to rush to make it to that on time. Then, I had to drive all over the place. I had to stop at the bank and the gas station. Doesn't sound like much, but to get to these places from where the party was is quite a trek. And then another half hour to drive home. UGH! So much driving!

I'm so glad to be home. I finished my book, and I may even attempt a bit of knitting before bed. I must say, I'm pretty wiped out. I'm very glad the day is nearly over.

I have to say, if you haven't read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, you should. Very good book. I like Card's style. I now feel the need to acquire or borrow the rest of the series. His writing reminds me a bit of Ursula LeGuin, simple and yet so powerful. LeGuin is one of my favorite authors. I'd say my list of favorite authors isn't too long, but, they are all amazing. Ursula LeGuin, Isaac Asimov, Phillip K. dick, Frank Herbert, my favorites. All sci fi writers too.

I especially enjoy LeGuin's work because of the nearly anthropological view it takes on. She uses ethical viewpoints and turns them into cultures. She pits idea systems against each other and then tells a story. I don't know if it's her clear understanding of the ideas behind her stories, or the clashing of two systems against each other, but I love it. She recently put out a new book of short stories. It's one of my favorite pieces of work. The title is "Changing Planes". The premise is that while sitting in an airport waiting for a plane, a bored traveler can accidentally slide into another dimension and visit the culture there. Each short story is about a travelers experience in a different culture.

Wow, I had a thought in my head for another paragraph, and it decided it didn't like me and it ran away.

Inventory and a New Year

I really do. I think it is the most torturous and insidious part of retail positions. It is especially worse because in my shop, I have to do the majority of it. I work at a small yarn shop. Most of the counting takes place during store hours, and then later my boss adds back in any purchases made after the 1st. I get to go up and down the shelves counting every ball of yarn on each shelf while customers are trying to browse. That isn't so bad. But the back room, THAT is scary. Most of the yarn back there is not organized nicely. I have to try to reorganize as I go through it all. Not all of the same yarns are in the same place either. It's all spread out back there, a bag here a bag there. I can't wait till it's over!

In other news, new wrist brace is acquired. I can now get back to my knitting without fear that it will cause my wrist to ache. But, I won't be knitting again till I've finished my book. I'm a little over three fourths of the way done. I am going to have to acquire the entire series at some point. Used books stores here I come! Anyone know of any good ones in Cincinnati?

I am tired. I feel like the holiday season really wore me out. Work was really busy, lots of things were going down in my personal life, and, the holidays are always kind of crazy. I really feel ready to go hide in a hole for a week or so, and emerge rested and ready to really tackle this new year. Despite my tiredness the year has started well.

I feel like I should be saying things like "this year will be different", and "this year will be the best yet!". Those are the kinds of things people say when a new year starts. I don't tend to be such an optimist. I know that every year brings new challenges and events. I will do my best to take it all in stride, and make it to the next year. I really believe that's all we can do. At the end of the year I'll judge it by it's relative goodness. Hopefully it will be better, but, if it's not, I have more years to come to make good. I will make the best of what life gives me. Bring it life! bring it!

Strained Wrist

So, I've strained my wrist. How you might ask? Well, knitting. Yes, knitting. It sounds like the lamest injury ever. But, I like to think it is an epic injury. I strained my wrist knitting a Dr. Who scarf. How awesome is that?

So, I spent about 3 hours today looking for half of my wrist brace. It has a glovey half, and a piece that goes around the wrist and has a thumb loop. I couldn't find the wrist part. I looked every where I thought it might be. Nowhere to be seen. I saw it not that long ago, and I remember thinking "that's a strange place for that". And now I can't find it! What the HELL? Oh well, guess it's time for a new one. . .

After I gave up the search I decided to read. Ender's Game. So far, so good. I like Orson Scott Card. I also happen to be a big sci fi geek. I went on an Asimov kick last winter and read the entire Foundation series. I also got an awesomely beautiful copy of Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy for Christmas, I think that will be my next read. Though, it's either that or The Penultimate Truth by Phillip K. Dick. Choices Choices. . .

Dr. Who scarf progress

So, here it is! I think the scarf is now about twice as long as it was last time I posted a picture. This thing is awesome and potentially will drive me mad. But, I love it. Gus, You better wear this thing!

I did finally paint. Though it wasn't last night, I got to it this morning. And I wasn't really painting anything of interest, just playing with brush and paint and getting a feel for it again. It's been nearly 2 years since I've painted anything! I can't believe it! It's good to own paints again.

I've been sortof all over the place today. I had trouble falling asleep last night even though I was exhausted. It's made me very ADD today. I've been cleaning a little (I did laundry! Yay!), going through some of my stuff and chucking things I don't really want and don't really need, and of course a fair amount of singing and dancing around to the music.

By the way, listening to my iPod on shuffle is really odd. It plays a very strange mix of music.

I got distracted. Lost train of thought. Or maybe that was really all I wanted to say. . . Hmmmm. . .

MythBusters marathon

I LOVE MythBusters! I've been watching just about all day long. It's good for the hangover recovery. MythBusters and knitting. The Dr Who scarf has reached 2 1/4 feet long. There will be a good picture of my progress soon.

Okay, this is the Dr. Who scarf so far. I have a long LONG ways to go, but, I like it so far.

I'm progressing on my New Year's Eve dress. It's going to be awesome. Zoot (my new dress form) is a bit smaller than I am though, so, patterns are going to have to be adjusted accordingly. Makes for extra work, but, I have a dress form!

I just bought $100 worth of paint and supplies yesterday. I can't wait to get painting again! Oh how I've missed it. I especially am looking forward to multimedia work. I really love to do collage and paint together, and I may even throw some embroidery into the mix.

I'm having a strange sort of day today. I think I've just over caffinated. I was drafting patterns and singing a song about Zoot's ass curve. Yes, Zoot has an ass curve. She actually has a bit of a crack too. And butt cheeks. I don't really understand why a dress form needs these things. But hey, whatever. At least she has a nice ass. Though, her curves do make it a bit difficult to drape properly in that area. I guess it'll just take some getting used to.

Stitchery, kayaks, and goldfish

I have been stitching like crazy. It's an abstract embroidery, lots of color. There will be photos when it is complete. I'm thinking of mounting it on felt, and rigging a way for it to be hung. I haven't embroidered in ages. I had forgotten how much I missed it!

I have another stitchy project planned involving stitching over someone else's artwork. I have received permission, so, we'll see how that turns out! And, when it's all done there will be pictures of course!

Still not done with my skirt. I've gotten to the hand sewing bits, and well, I've given up. I can't find my proper color of thread to sew the facing and waistband down with, so it will wait.

I got a package in the mail today! I got a replacement shaft for one of my drop spindles. They also included a whole new spindle and some beautiful hand dyed silk! I have to do some more spinning!

I went kayaking earlier. It felt good. I get the feeling though, that I have been a bit sunburned, and that my shoulders will be a bit sore tomorrow.

My little brother has confiscated my goldfish crackers. DAMN HIM.

"That there bee is dead!" Says my brother. The bee was placed in a plastic bag and into the freezer to see if it could be defrosted and would live. It didn't.

I have discovered how to burn the music I buy on iTunes onto a cd so I can play it in my car. It's really sad how simple it was. . . clearly my thinking cap does not fit properly.

I've begun spinning an amazing new yarn. I have also tagged my older handspuns so that I can put them up for sale! I will be taking pictures of all soon enough.

I have made little progress on what I'm calling my Fabricate skirt. I have drafted the pattern, and have only one change left to make before I sew the final product. Perhaps tomorrow I will get sewing. I lack motivation. Perhaps a bowl of rasberry sherbert will fix that. . .

My two most recent music purchases are Derdang Derdang by Archie Bronson Outfit, and Sister Kinderhook by Rasputina. all I can say is this, <3.

about 10 minutes ago I ran upstairs to get my pocket knife so I could clean beneath my fingernails. I could have walked to the bathroom 10 feet away to get nail clippers. But that would have been too easy. Also, it is more fun to clean beneath my nails with a knife.

There is something so meditative about spinning yarn. I have been spinning all day, and I show no signs of slowing! There will be some pictures as soon as this rainstorm passes, and perhaps my first etsy listing of the year!

I have been feeling quite productive as of late. I think it's the spring. The world is coming back to life, and I am awakening from my hibernation.

Holy crap! I just had a great, fun, busy trip to cali! I got to see the premiere of my film, I spent a whole week in the town I grew up in, and I got to hang with cool people! I saw lots of old friends, and made a few new as well! All in all it was an amazing trip!

I took a few photographs. I may be posting some of those soon. I also knit my cousin some baby socks while I was out there. My little second cousin Max loves them! I am more and more homesick everytime I go out there, but, I am more and more motivated to get my ass back there and do what I should be doing in the place I should be doing it in.

I will be home again soon enough!

lazyness makes a liar out of me

I have yet to get buttons for those neckwarmers. I haven't felt like getting up early enough to go buy them yet. But, tomorrow I have to get up anyways, to go to the post office before work.

I made a sale on etsy! I'm very excited. So it's off to the post office for the set of bangles pictured in my last post. And then off the to craft store with me to pick out buttons. Because there is no excuse for my lazyness (no matter how cold it is outside, I'm still just being lazy).

Bracelets, snow, and neck warmers

Well, I have taken pictures of many of the bracelets I have made, and I have started listing them in my etsy shop. I'm quite excited about this!

I have two neckwarmers that are just about ready to be posted also, but, they need buttons first! so, tomorrow, I'm off to find buttons before work. And then after work I am chaperoning the mens knitting night at the shop I work at. We all know the boys can't be left alone in the yarn shop, such things would lead to much missbehavior.

In other completely unrelated news, I was able to fit a dress I had made while in school. Which is kinda spectacular, because I wasn't able to fit anything I made when I was acctually in school. I was a bit overweight.

I may start sewing more, If I can find a decent fabric store within driving distance. I'm acctually quite appalled at the lack of good fabric availability around here. I may have to make a trip to the fabric store when I go visit chicago. Plan out all the items I want to buy for, and see how many I can manage to find something to create them with.

And now for something completely different. It snowed today. And I hated it. I'm just glad that it didn't stick, or I would have been miserable!

Major Project ADD

Okay, so, if you hadn't thought about seeing "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". You should change your mind! Mr. Fox really is "Fantastic". And the details on the puppetets is just amazing! I want to be one of the people who knits tiny sweaters for puppets. How does one go about getting such a job?

The yarns pictured are hand dyed by yours truely with kool-aid (yes kool-aid!)and are up for sale in my etsy shop. There are two 100% wool sock yarns, and then two skeins of this great wool silk blend that I just love! I have dyed a whole bunch of it red for a project for myself (which will be revealed at a later time). I have re-opened the etsy shop finally! Huzzah! I'm quite proud that I finally got around to doing this.

I'm currently working on several projects. I have this lace scarf thing that is supposed to be a store model for the shop I work at, Knit On!. I have been working on this thing for ages. But the trouble is I keep putting it down. I get project ADD so easily!

I'm also working on a pair of wristwarmers from this great sock yarn in super bright colors. Once they are finished I will be putting the pattern in my shop! I have also just purchased rovings for to dye, and I am working on plying a yarn right now that is just super! (it's orange and green, and beautiful!). I plan on buying some nice dyes in the next few days, and by next week or perhaps the week after there will be hand dyed rovings in my shop as well!

I have this idea that I want to write up all the patterns I create and possibly one day publish a book. Lets see if I ever do it shall we?

Okay, so it has been forever since I have posted any new work. That's because it has been forever since I have completed anything. I have started new projects, but I have not finished anything.

One reason for this is I have been away for nearly a month. I had a job in southern California, I did wardrobe for an independent film called Legacy. Then after that I went to Hawaii for 10 days. But I am back now, and ready to start working on finishing projects, and starting new ones.

I am incredibly excited that fall is coming up! It is my favorite season, I love layering my clothing, and fall is the perfect time to do so! I hope to design a small line and sell items on etsy. We shall see how that goes. Perhaps I will have a few pieces designed in time for fall.

These are my two most recent pieces of embroidery. The 42, was just for fun and for myself. It was featured at MrXStitch The best contemporary embroidery website I've seen. I feel very honored to have my work featured there! Thanks guys over at MrXStitch! The shark week piece was done for my friends over at chicagoland Games only the best gamestore in the Chicago area. This piece was also featured on Feeling Stitchy. I feel so special that my humble work has been featured on two great sites and adorns the walls of my friends shop!

I'm currently working on a piece of crochet, I'm not quite sure what the piece is going to be, but, I have a sleeve and am now working on a neckline. We shall see what it becomes. . . I also am working on a vest of sorts with a big giagantic collar. I was inspired by Crisis Wear, I'm adapting the exo vest to my own liking.

Okay, so it's been quite a while since I've updated. I have created a few things, I have also been going through some major changes, one of them including relocation. I will post pictures of the newest yarns I have spun, I think there are 2 of them.

I have been itching to create lately, so something new will be here soon. I need to create something new! I NEED to create! But first I have a 2000 word paper to write. . . yay school!

I officially graduate from the International Academy of Design and Technology Chicago, June 20th! I may have a graduation party, not sure. But I'm graduating! But untill then, I need to write my paper for my internship class. It's due the end of the week, so If I post anything here it probably won't be till after then.

yarns galore!

Okay, so I have a few pictures of the lovely brown/multicolor 2 ply yarn I spun. I think it turned out beautifully! But unfortunately I cannot capture the colors correctly with my camera, am going to have to take many more pictures till it looks right. So this is the only pic I have for now.

I plied the beautiful stained glass roving, but I screwed up. Half of it I plied wrong, and the other half came out in two sections. AAAHHHHHHHH I hate when I screw up. . . I plan on trying to re-ply the first section, and the other two sections I think will be come flower broaches.

I am currently working on spinning up a roving which I bought on etsy from wildhare I quite love the colors, and the fiber is very lofty, but it spins up a bit coarser than I imagined it would. I shall see how it plies up, and possibly I will also ply it with some of that brown romney I have. (I still have so much of that stuff!).

I have a commission to create a funky doll for a friend. That will happen sometime this week. I have it all planned out, but I have to find time to do it. I have been busy working on a film project for which I am the costume coordinator. I'm having fun with it! Turns out I am also going to have to act in it (it's my betrothed's project and he couldn't find anyone else). I like acting, but this is like the 5 or 6th project I've been in, and they could use some new faces.

I am excited about starting my internship on the 30th. That is going to be awesome! I may even be able to ride my bike there, which would be so fun! And I would get in great shape!

Working on stuff

I am currently still working on the spinning that is pictured in the previous post. I am working on spinning the second spindle full so that I can ply the yarn! I can't wait till it's all done.

I was trying to photograph a yarn I just recently plied this morning, but the color wasn't coming out right. When I get a good photo that will be going up here.

I am doing costume design for a student film. I am really excited! I don't really have the time or budget to make things, so I will be buying from thrift stores and customizing things. It's going to be great fun because the piece is a post apocalyptic world and so I will be putting lots of holes in things and then "mending" them. Also I may make a pair of wrist warmers with a thumb hole. And possibly a hat. I think I would really enjoy doing more work like this. I think I'm going to scan my quick illustrations into the computer and re-draw them with illustrator and bring them to life with photo shop. I may even be able to add this work to my portfolio. I must think of a way to work it in there. . . .

I start my internship with Vex Clothing on Monday the 30th of March. I'm very excited about that. I will be learning how to make custom patterns there. I can't wait till I can make a pattern for anyone! that will be awesome.

I have an idea for an awesome skirt/dress. I'm not sure which one it wants to be yet. But it will be patchwork-y and have lots of mismatched fabric to make a fll skirt, probably with some messy on purpose seams, and then I'm going to do embroidery on it, and maybe even do some crochet work. I want to do a pocket too, and embroider around the pocket opening. I need to do some sketches first before I decide how exactly to make it look.

I think for now that is really all that is going on. Still working on re-opening of etsy shop. That may not happen as soon as I'd like. I've gone all ADD.

new spindle and other things

So I have been spinning on my new spindle, it is already full with some beautifully colored yarn in a colorway called stained glass. I love the play of colors, I hope when I get a chance to ply it it will look as amazing! My spindle is full though, and I am in the middle of spinning up another plied yarn that is taking up the only two empty spools I have to use for plying! So when that is all plied I will be able to spin another spindle full of the beautiful colors and ply away! I will post pictures of both yarns when I get the chance.

I am still working on that new header for my etsy shop. I have lost the steam in my embroidery engine. I don't have much left to do though, and it will probably be finished tomorrow. Then I will scan the embroidery and do fun things with it in photoshop to make it fit for my etsy page. yay! I like using photoshop.

My cats are crazy. Peanut is sitting on the back of the chair watching me as I type this, and meowing every few minutes. I need to go pay attention to him!

I took a break

Okay, so I know it's been forever since I have posted anything. I have been busy setting up interviews and finishing my portfolio. Last week I scored an internship with Vex Clothing. I am very excited! I have paperwork to fill out next week, and then I can start! I can't wait!

I have been doing a bit of spinning. I just bought a new spindle and some new roving. I am not allowed to buy more roving for like a year, or at least till most of what I have is all spun up! I need to make friends with someone who has a spinning wheel so I can go over there and spin! I can't wait till I am working in my industry (fashion design) and can afford to buy myself some nice things like a spinning wheel.

I am working on a new header for my etsy shop, so that I can have a re-opening of sorts. I have been doing some beading (the fiance bought me more beading thread, yay!) and I have crocheted up a neckwarmer with the yarn that I spun myself. I am hoping to put these things in my shop as well as all of the things that I have hidden away in a box just for such an occasion as an etsy shop re-opening. I have time this week, and I plan on making it happen! I will be posting pictures of my new roving and spindle when the spindle gets here. I'm so impatient!

The General

I completed this piece a while ago, but took forever to take photos and get them on the computer. It is now hanging on the wall HERE. The recipient was very pleased.

I have no new projects in mind for a while. I have been kinda busy with a search for an internship and a part time job. But I may be posting little projects here and there.

I also have just completed a rug for the kitchen. I am working on felting it. When it is done there will be photographs.

Huzzah for Spinach and Artichoke dip!

So last night I made spinach artichoke dip in my crock pot. It was delicious! I still have tons left over too. I got the recipe here. I love that blog! I used cream cheese instead of the recommended mayonnaise (eeeew I hate mayo). It turned out great. I will definitely be making this again. yum!

I Have completed my cross stitch project, I will post pictures as soon as it is securely in a frame (some time this weekend). I am starting a second project soon, but my house is dirty and I have some school stuff to take care of, so we will see when that happens. . .

applesauce and cross stitch

Well, this is my first post ever on this blog. I have decided to dedicate this blog to any craft projects or cooking projects I may want to share.

since yesterday I have been working on a cross stitch project. I am creating a piece that makes me laugh. It is full of cuss words though, so you wont know what it says until I post pictures!

I made applesauce in my crockpot the other day. I'm so excited! It tasted delicious too. I will be making my own applesauce from now on! I got the recipe HERE.
That blog has inspired me to use my crockpot more often! and for more than just soup!
